Freeze Dryer Functionality Test to report to Tech Support V 2-1

Start with the freeze dryer at room temperature
Purge the Drain Valve and dry the chamber
- Close the door and the drain valve.
- On the test page turn on the vacuum
- After two (2) minutes, open the drain valve but leave the vacuum on.
- After an additional three (3) minutes turn the vacuum off.
- Pull off the seal and pull out the shelf unit (does not need to be unplugged).
- Dry all surfaces inside the freeze dryer chamber.
- Replace shelf unit and the seal.
Begin the Functionality Test (Make sure you are on the test screen)
Log all the following results on the table below
- At room temperature: Record Vacuum, Temperature, Humidity, and current time.
- Turn the heater on
- Watch for the temperature to reach 130 degrees. Record temperature, humidity, and current time.
- Touch Test. Open the door and feel each shelf. Are all shelves warm?
- Turn the Freezer on
- At 30 degrees: Record Vacuum, Temperature and Humidity, and current time.
- Make sure door and drain valve are closed and turn on the vacuum. Start a timer for 15 minutes.
- At 15 minutes: Record Vacuum, Temperature, Humidity and current time.
- Start another timer for 15 minutes.
- At 30 minutes: Record Vacuum, Temperature, Humidity and current time.
- Turn off the vacuum and open the drain valve. DO NOT TURN OFF THE FREEZER.
- Set a timer for an additional 55 minutes.
- After 55 minutes record the temperature and current time. If the temperature is -10 degrees or colder, you can skip to step 16.
- Set a timer for an additional 60 minutes.
- After 60 minutes record temperature and current time.
- Turn off the freezer
- Press the BACK button
- In the lower right corner of the screen find the Version # and the serial # and record them under the log table.
- Take a photo or scan the Log page and send it in to Prep4Life support. You can reply to the ticket email you received or send it to support@p4lfood.com.

Heater
- If at functionality test step 3 (130 degrees) your temperature did not read 130 degrees then proceed through the following:
- Are the shelves warm regardless of the temperature reading?
If YES |

Vacuum
- If at Functionality Test Step 8 (15 minutes) your vacuum reads over 10,000 then proceed through the following:
- Is the door sealed at this point in the test? Is there a thick black line where the door is sealed. You can just turn the vacuum on for 10 minutes by itself to reverify this.

- Is the drain valve closed?

Check the door adjustment Refer to the explanatory video on the QR code sheet that came on the door of your Cube then run the vacuum for ten minutes again and perform functionality test again if the seal is happening. |
Close the valve and perform the functionality test again. |
- If at Functionality Test Step 10 (30 minutes) your vacuum is not lower than 450.
- Was the freezer on during the entire functionality test?

Freezer
- Check the temperature recordings in the Functionality Test
- Did your freeze dryer reach 30 degrees in step 6 (30 degrees) of the functionality test?
If YES |
If NO |
Continue to D2 |

- Did your freeze dryer continue to get colder through Step 10 (30 minutes) of the functionality test?
If YES |
If NO |
Continue to D3 |

- Did your freeze dryer reach or below 0 degrees in Step 13 (55 minutes) of the functionality test?

Proceed to Step D4 |
Proceed to Step D4, but record the results for tech support |
- Did your freeze dryer reach at or below -10 degrees in Step 15 (60 minutes) of the functionality test?

Humidity
- Check the humidity numbers on the Functionality Test table.
- Was the humidity number between 0-100 in Step 1 (Room Temp) of the functionality test?
