Food is taking “too long” to Freeze Dry

Typical food cycles on average are 24 hrs, but they can range from 14-40 hrs depending on type and quantity of the food.

At 45 hours, we recommend removing the food, putting it in the freezer, defrost the Cube and then run the food again on a Frozen cycle batch.
Two smaller batches often run faster than one large batch.

What kind of food are you running?

Foods with high water content take longer.
Foods that are overripe will also take longer.
Some foods, like zucchini, take longer to release their water.

Check the ice load:
If the ice is touching the shelves, it is going to extend the process significantly.

How much food is being loaded into the trays?
Start small with new foods.

Was the food pre-frozen?
Unfrozen batches can take 2-8 hrs longer depending on the food.
