INGREDIENTS

  • 4 (14.5 ounce) cans stewed tomatoes
  • 2 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1/2 C chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3/4 C olive oil
  • 2/3 cup finely diced onion
  • 1 cup low sodium chicken broth
  1. Place tomatoes, tomato paste, parsley, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper in a food processor; blend until smooth.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until slightly softened, about 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in blended tomato sauce and chicken broth.
  4. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 30 minutes.

Makes about 8 cups of marinara sauce

 

Freeze Drying Instructions

  1. Spread the marinara sauce across 4 trays.
  2. Freeze in your home freezer overnight
  3. Start a frozen batch in your Cube freeze dryer.
  4. When The Cube notifies you, insert the trays of marinara sauce
  5. Continue the batch.
  6. Our batch took 21.5 hours
  7. Remove the dry sauce
  8. Place in mylar bags with oxygen absorber for long-term storage
  9. Reconstitute 1/2 C Powder with 4oz water.
